The Ektara (also known as Gopichand) is a one string plucked instrument from the subcontinent of India and is used the most in the state of Bengal. It is most commonly used in religious songs or changing and as an accompaniment to folk singers. Typiucally, a bamboo is pired apart and both ends are connected with a resonator made of wood, gourd, and coconut. This Empire Ektara is the smallest size and features seasoned wood.
